First Day of Fall 2010
Today could be the first day of fall 2010. Celebrated every single day on September 22, this day marks the Autumnal Equinox. It marks the day when days and nights are equal. It could be the day when the length of daylight and the length of darkness is equal and the sun is in the same plane as equator.
Many people has a little confusion over celebrating the first day of fall on September 22. They believe that it actually falls on September first.
However, September 22 has been astronomically proved since the day when days and nights are equal and also the holiday has been officially announced.
First day of fall is also called since the Fall equinox that refers to day and night equality. The term equinox has been taken from the Latin words aequus and nox which mean equal and night.
After this day, the night keeps obtaining lengthier and days become shorter
