Forbes 400: Bill Gates still richest followed by Warren Buffett
Bill Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft Corp., is the richest man in America. His estimated assets is $54 billion, reports the annual ranking of Forbes magazine. The list contains 400 richest Americans.
The second wealthiest person in America is Mr. Warren Buffett with $45 billion assets. Buffett runs the Berkshire Hathaway and has proved to be even better than Bill Gates at amassing wealth. He gained about $5 billion in 2009 as the financial crisis ebbed.
There were 85 such wealthy Americans whose wealth declined in 2010 and it was with 314 last year. For 217 members the wealth increased. 400 members’ total worth rose by 8 percent to $1.37 trillion. It was but lower than the 2008 total of $1.57 trillion.
The third richest person is Lawrence J. Ellison of Oracle with $27 billion.
two Koch brothers, Charles and David, acquired the fifth position. Four Walton family members remained in the top ten.
