Kenny McKinley Death

Kenny McKinley, a wide receiver for the Broncos and previous South Carolina star, was found lifeless in Arapahoe County, Colo, the team confirmed Monday night.

Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson told The Denver article that it absolutely was "apparently a suicide," but an investigation is nonetheless under way. Robinson told reporters that the induce of passing away appeared to get a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities were named to McKinley's apartment at about 3:30 p.m. Monday afternoon.

Denver drafted McKinley, 23, in the fifth circular in the 2009 draft (No. 141 overall). He saw limited action in eight games final period prior to becoming placed on injured reserve having a knee injury. The Broncos once again placed him on IR prior towards 2010 season.

"Kenny had a promising future about the football field, but extra importantly, he was a excellent teammate whose smile and character could lighting up the room," Denver head mentor Josh McDaniels said. "This is really a tragic great loss for our football team, and his family is in all of our ideas and prayers during this difficult time."
