Anita Hill:It’s possibly the most famous “he said, she said” situation in American history. And now, two decades soon after the nation had believed it had observed the last of Anita Hill’s testimony throughout Clarence Thomas’s confirmation hearings, it’s back, gracing the pages from the morning’s newspapers.

The news: Justice Thomas’s wife, Virginia, earlier this month called Anita Hill, now a professor at Brandeis University, seeking an apology. throughout Justice Thomas’s confirmation hearings in 1991, Hill alleged that Thomas, as her boss, had sexually harassed her at the training department and later at the equal employment opportunity Commission. Thomas vehemently denied the allegations.

“I do place a call to Ms. Hill at her business office extending an olive branch to her soon after all these years, in hopes that we could eventually get passed (sic) what happened so prolonged ago,” Virginia Thomas mentioned through a spokesman. Hill mentioned she did not consider Mrs. Thomas’s Oct. 9 voicemail as conciliatory.

“I certainly believed the call was inappropriate,” Hill mentioned through a Brandeis spokesman. “I have no intention of apologizing because I testified truthfully about my experience and I stand by that testimony.”

Hill mentioned she in the beginning assumed the call, which a Brandeis spokesman mentioned came in at 7:30 a.m. on a Saturday, was a prank. She notified campus security, Brandeis spokesman Charles Radin said, which inside of a routine procedure alerted the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

“Good morning, Anita Hill, it’s Ginni Thomas,” the message went. “I just wanted to reach across the airwaves and also the years and request you to consider something. I would adore you to consider an apology sometime and some full explanation of why you do what you do with my husband. So give it some believed and certainly pray about this and occur to fully grasp why you do what you did. Okay have a fantastic day.”
