Dean of Asian Studies Cecilia Chang charged for forced labor
Cecilia Chang, the previous St. John’s Dean of Asian reviews and Vice President, has been charged after once more after June and now for forcing the students to act as her servants. in your month of June this year, Chang was charged for embezzling $1 million worth of donations from the university.
According to the ny Times, Cecilia Chang was provided the charge of granting fifteen scholarships annually and most of the scholarships went to overseas students. The reports further says that the students were told to work for the university to preserve their scholarships.
New York article publishes what a student authored in a letter of complaint to the university. “[Chang] let me be the housekeeper for her home and give me scholarship…she request us work 122 days per 12 months per person.”
The students were also instructed of delivering revenue to her in Cnnecticut when she was gambling. more to this, the students were enquired to drive her son to the airport at 3 in your morning and also to help her falsify documents.
