Capco wins planning for £20m Olympia extension
Capco subsidiary Earls Court & Olympia Ventures, a second ground shall be produced in Olympia’s West Hall, providing the hall with a complete of 90,000 sq ft of exhibition space. far better links to the Grand Hall and Olympia two will be also developed.
Redeveloping the conference centre will mean additional gatherings might be held simultaneously at Olympia.the conference centre presently hosts additional than 70 shows a year.
However, Capco mentioned that 80% of shows now occupy less than 100,000 sq ft. It is hoped the fact that reconfiguration of the centre will take additional of these shows to the centre.
Gary Yardley, investment director of Capco, said: “The approval for our redevelopment programs will provide us using the opportunity to intensify operations at Olympia once the functions are completed.
“This project is part of our overall technique to unlock latent worth through the delivery of our programs to regenerate our Earls Court & Olympia estate.”
Work is expected to start on the scheme in 2011 and shall be phased to permit the venue to continue to operate.
Completion of the project, which was designed by ColladoCollins, is expected in 2012.
