Janelle Monae releases bolder album
Janelle Monae’s “The ArchAndroid (Suites II and III),” is a bolder album on this year release. It is a sprawling and genre-bending musical narrative about messianic android called Cindi Mayweather. The album is determined to prove that there are many manifestations to humanity and some not necessarily flesh and blood. The album has 18 songs.
Janelle Monae, 24, references Stevie Wonder, James Brown, MGM film musicals, Afrofuturism, Fritz Lang’s “Metropolis,” Broadway and David Bowie. It may be more long, the comparisons, but what is crucial here is the end result.
Janelle Monae co-founded a report label in her spare time and collaborated it with indie-rock bands like that Of Montreal. She had perfected an electrifying stage show with her manic and boundless energy. Monae is even increasing into a role model.
