Drug Shootout Killed 25 in Mexico
Thursday, in an army raid in rural northeastern Mexico at least 25 drug gang members were killed. After an airborne patrol noticed armed men outside the building, soldiers were sent to the location. And the fighting started when the men opened fire on troops.
After the fighting, three people who had been kidnapped by the gang were set free, two of the soldiers were found wounded. 23 vehicles were seized by the troops including two painted in army colors. Vehicles were filled with two dozen guns and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.
According to the reports clash took place in the Nuevo Leon state, which is also a business hub for Monterrey. But later the place was recognized as Tamaulipas. It is one of the Mexico’s bloodiest drug flashpoints. Last week bodies of 72 Central and South American migrants were found by Mexican marines who were gunned down by drug cartel in Tamaulipas.
