Dubai plane crash near Emirates Road
Dubai’s Emirates highway a plane crashed today. According to media reports, it is believed that the Dubai plane crash is caused by a Boeing 747-400. The plane belongs to UPS and it crashed at about 8 local time when it was moving towards its depot in Cologne, Germany.
Latest update from several local medias said that it was UPS flight 6 from OMDB/DXB Dubai to EDDN/CGN with registration number of N571UP, a Boeing 747-44AF/SCD variant.
Eye witnesses said the plane crashed down near to Global Village and Academic City on the Al-Ain Dubai Highway, which is about 20 kilometers away from Dubai’s International Airport. The incident happened just 2 minutes after take off.
Statement from Bob Lekites, the operations manager said, “This incident is very unfortunate and we will do everything we can to find the cause. Our thoughts go out to the crew members involved in the incident and their families.”
