Google Doodles Buckyball
Google replaces the middle ‘O’ letter with an orange ball in the special animated logo. It is the ‘buckyball,’ a form of 60 atoms carbon composed like a molecular football.
One can twist and turn the ball after scrolling the mouse across the logo and this is replacement of search engine’s usual logo on its homepage.
On Saturday, the logo has been rolled out across the world, in celebration of the quarter of a century for its discovery.
The ‘buckyball’ is also called fullerene. Acocrding to scientists, it is formed by any molecules composed entirely of carbon in the form of a hollow sphere, ellipsoid, or tube.
The official name of the buckyball is “Buckminsterfullerene” on the basis of its structure resembling and it was designed by the late American engineer Buckminster Fuller.
The new animated Doodle first time came on Google homepage in May, celebrating the 30th birthday of Pac-Man.
