At times equipped, and usually needy, Cory Alan Sharlow terrified pharmacists through the town during a series of shameless burglaries last autumn.
His routine was nicely ready and foreseeable: Steal a car. Steal from the pharmacist. Make his escape.
His purpose was much less complicated, but usually the same: to obtain the OxyContin his body longed for.
The plan do the trick so nicely he conned 10 pharmacies in a month, right up until he was captured and later sent to jail.
Police and addictions authorities say Sharlow’s case characterizes the danger and frustration of addicts powered to obtain their fix of OxyContin, the manufacturer name introduced an opioid painkiller that offers out the drug, oxycodone, through time release.
