Arizona Seriff Joe Arpaio has been sued by the Justice Department as they say he and his staff allegedly have a “pattern or practice of discriminatory law enforcement conduct.”. Assistant attorney Thomas E. Perez explained the decision today saying:

“The actions of the sheriff’s office are unprecedented. It is unfortunate that the department was forced to resort to litigation to gain access to public documents and facilities,”

According to the Feds, Arapio hasn’t been cooperating with the investigations about alleged discriminations:

“Defendants’ refusal to cooperate with reasonable requests for information regarding the use of federal funds is a violation of defendants’ statutory, regulatory and contractual obligations.”

Sheriff Joe Arpaio isn’t afraid by the legal actions against him. He said: “I’m not going to be intimidated by the federal government going to court against us.”
