Typhoon Kompasu Hits South Korea
Typhoon Kompasu has hit South Korea, and it has already prompted the cancellation of dozens of flights in the country, cut power lines. Buildings had to be closed early on Thursday when the typhoon entered central South Korea.
This is reportedly the strongest storm to pass through South Korea in 15 years! Moving through the city became very difficult as downed power lines halted the service of Seoul’s subway in most sections above ground.
The National Emergency Management Agency has reported 4 people injured early in the morning, while Yonhap has stated that there is already a casualty when an 80-years-old man was hit by a flying roof tile. All kindergartens have been ordered to remain close, while schools have been urged to open 2 hours later.
