West Indian Day Parade 2010:Watch Video end of the post.Catch all the color and excitement, as millions of Brooklynites and New York line along Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn Labor Day Parade Monday, September 6, 2010.This year’s West Indian American parade and a carnival celebrating its 42 anniversary, it continues to enjoy the honor of being in New York’s largest cultural festivals to date.As in the past, expect the crowd will be waving flags from Trinidad, Barbados, Grenada and other Caribbean countries, in a joyful expression of ethnic heritage and cultural pride.
You do not have to be from the West Indies
All are invited to take part in the performance of thousands of demonstrators in the bright costumes of ‘Jumpin’ down the route of the parade to the sounds of reggae and calypso.
Aromas of food, as a native Jamaican jerk chicken, fried flying fish Bayan and other soul satisfying treats at the biggest festival of street.

In fact, the entire weekend is devoted to special events – with a special Kiddie Carnival on Saturday, Dimanche Gras (Fat Sunday) holiday, and early Monday morning (starting at around 3 am) J’Ouvert parade, steel pan drums festival kicks that the main parade, from 11 am.
