Woodstock Fair enjoyed by fairgoers
The second day of the 150th Woodstock Fair was filled with laughter amid sunshine.
According to Don Farias, the General Manager, said the fairgrounds was “crowded” on Saturday, but for the it didn’t have attendance figures. He mentioned his happiness becuase Hurricane Earl fizzled and it is forecasted that the region will have warm and sunny weather.
Fairgoers enjoyed the day strolling through the vendors, with turkey legs, French fries and corn on the cob. There were also horse competitions and Cattle shows throughout the day and bands were also played from the ’50s music.
15-year-old Taylor Buell from Eastford brought her Brown Swiss cow called Maya for show. Maya took first place in the judging for dairyness.
Mike and Betty Gatta, of Johnston, R.I., enjoyed the cows doing paradebefore the judges.
Betty Gatta mentioned that animals brought back childhood memories as hwe had grown up on a farm.
