US Open Tennis 2010 Schedule – The 2010 US Open of Tennis started yesterday, and already there have been a number of surprises. Yesterday a number of huge names took to the court including Roger Federer, Venus Williams, and Robin Soderling.They all were able to advance to the second round of the tournament, though some not without a fight. The number one seeds on both sides, Rafael Nadal and Caroline Wozniacki will be playing today.

Nadal has nothing left to prove, and is considered to be the best player in the world by many. He just needs to remain consistent and play the type of tennis that he, and everyone who watches the sport knows he is capable of playing. After dominating the French Open and Wimbledon, he is attempting to do it again at Flushing Meadows.

He will be facing Teimuraz Gabashvili today, and is expected to win the match by a wide margin. However, if there is one thing that tennis has shown us in recent years, it’s that there is always the possibility of an upset, and Nadal will inevitably have to get through Roger Federer on his way to the top.



Even if he does not leave with a victory, his two major victories should be enough to secure the top spot at the end of the year. A US Open victory would only make his position that much more apparent.
Wozniacki has had a hard time performing in the later stages of big tournaments throughout the year, and she is now attempting to break that bad luck streak at the 2010 US Open. If she can remain consistent, there is a good chance that she could bring home the crown for the women’s side of the tournament.
